Vision Statement

The Foundation’s vision is of a thriving community that:

  1. Provides opportunities for each individual to make positive contributions for the common good,
  2. Recognizes the historical contributions of all its citizens.

This vision is based on a philosophy that – if supplied with appropriate opportunities, resources, and encouragement – all people of the community can realize their full potential. The BDP Foundation supports and unites organizations and donors working to create a just and sustainable community that is free of oppression and that embrace and celebrate all people. Through grantmaking and related activities, the BDP Foundation fosters social change primarily (but not limited to) in the Summerton, SC area of Clarendon County.
